As already known, Tortall won the war that had lasted for an entire of two years. Scanra had badly lost, and peace had returned to our wonderful kingdom. With increase of trade, and better craftsmen, Tortall was reaching its heights. New artists, creative authors, uncorrupted officials, and wonderful teachers were improving the lives of every Tortallan citizen. Students from all over the world now came to Corus to attend the Royal University. Jonathan, and his beautiful Queen Thayet were now considered amongst one of the best rulers in the history of the entire world. Social lives, and career opportunities for women also increased. Now, attending the Convent was not the only choice noblewomen had. Not only this, but the Tortallans felt secure. They were in the hands of brave warriors, both male and female, and mages whose fame was spread all around.
However, the same can not be said for the Royal Family of Tortall. Only nine years after the war, Jonathan died of a deadly disease. This caused Thayet to commit suicide. The Dowager Queen said she had to reason to live without her husband. All of her children had grown, not requiring her any longer. She must, now, join the late King Jonathan. With the death of his parents, the Crown Prince, Roald, and his wife, Shinkokami, inherited the Throne.
Though the country grieved the loss of their dearest rulers, it could not stop developing. Stomachs needed to be fed; children needed to be taught, and so, continued the lives of the citizens.
Roald, handling his duty amazingly, was almost being compared to his father. However, it seemed, the Gods did not wish for it to be this way.
In about five years of his reign, large raids began. Thieves, assassins, pirates entered Tortall from all around. Huge storms rose in the seas, causing villages near the seas to be flooded, killing many. This was exactly when the Royal couple's youngest child was born. People, afraid, turned on the innocent baby. Considering her unlucky, they even proposed to kill her.
Is this just another attack from some country? Have the Gods really turned their faces away from Tortall? Is the youngest Princess unlucky, as is being said of her? And, what is Roald going to do? Will he kill his own child? Or will he protest against his own subjects? How is this going to affect our beloved Tortall? Its up to you to decide......[/quote]
