A forgotten island once part of Greece, which drifted from the mainland near the beginning, this is Isle Everwood’s story.
206 A.D. A little boat with a slave, some failed experiments, and some tumors. Rowing to the unknown island. The man dumps the rubbish on the shore and goes back towards his home. The little island was once known as Tantalus: because Tantalus wasn’t allowed to drink though he was surrounded by water and you don’t drink the water surrounding the island because of the things the humans dropped off there. But the wolves that inhabited Tantalus didn’t know this, so they drank, and eventually the wolves were getting sick. At this time there were many small packs, who all lived in harmony, and one of the seers accompanied by a medicine man was going around trying to heal them all but couldn’t. So the Seer tried an ancient spell he had often used on himself because he wasn’t allowed to take herbal medicines. It was supposed to release the pain. And the pain turned out to be wings. But it did let the pain go. Half of the wolves rejoiced to mythical gods and goddesses for the blessing, but the others were not as joyous. They blamed the other happy wolves for this “curse” and made their own pack vowing to kill off all the others, and to find a way to heal themselves. The Phantoms. The praising half had heard of their plan and decided to band together as well to defend themselves. A huge war took place. The two leaders were lovers and when they faced each other in that battle, Heartbroken Battle, the stories say that’s when the bonds broke for good and the hostilities rose. The Phantoms lost the horrific deathly combat. They were outcast to the other side of The Wall of Silverveil, to the badlands, now the Phantom Side. The other group was prideful in their defending and guarding of their land and called themselves The Guardians. They both adapted to the new life, and as their hearts changed so did there appearances. Now they were immune to the harsh toxics in the water, not that the Grecians ever returned after seeing the bizarre bloody sky battles. The wolves changed the Island’s name to Isle Everwood, because the water was no longer tantalus and they Ever would fight. Now all the way into 2008, the true reason for the hate is forgotten and they fight because of differences, and because that is the way they were raised to know. But soon a new force will emerge, and will hopefully rebond Isle Everwood… But will it survive that long...
