The Moulin Rouge.
A night club, a dance hall and a bordello.
Ruled over by Harold Zidler. A kingdom of night time pleasures.
Where the rich and powerful came to play with the young and beautiful creatures of the underworld.
The most beautiful of these was the one I loved. Satine.
A courtesan. She sold her love to men.
They called her the "Sparkling Diamond", and she was the star... of the Moulin rouge. The woman I loved is... dead.
We have all heard of the Moulin Rouge! The story of Zidler, Satine and Christian. This is, but one story, and from one point of view. There was life in the Moulin Rouge before them, and life after. This is life before. There is no Satine, no Zidler, no Christian.
There are dance hall girls, and other performers that live and work at the Moulin Rouge. There are still clients, men with impeccable standards, and secret desires. Intrigues, and desire.
The Bohemian Revolution is just underway, artists of all types flooding Montemarte to learn, live, breathe and write. Freedom, Beauty, Truth, and Love. How many will find what their looking for? And who will be dragged down into the dark world that exists beneath the glamor and beauty. Everyone is trying to survive
